Rotor Blown Wing (RBW)

Sikorsky’s revolutionary twin proprotor Rotor Blown Wing VTOL UAS marks a significant breakthrough in the development of long-endurance, high-payload unmanned aerial systems. This cutting-edge aircraft combines the efficiency of a fixed-wing airplane with the versatility of a helicopter, enabling it to take off, hover, and land vertically while cruising on the wing for extended periods.

These innovative UAS, which may utilize a hybrid-electric powertrain, are specifically designed for confined and austere areas of operation to include runway independency, urban and ship operations. They are well suited for a variety of all-weather operations from reconnaissance, light attack and contested logistics and can serve across DoD, Homeland Security, Forestry and civilian organizations.

These aircraft represent a major leap forward with an articulated rotor design and Sikorsky's proven MATRIX™ flight autonomy system. MATRIX’s open architecture means it can seamlessly interface with existing C2 systems such as the Army Universal UAS Controller or the U.S. Marine Corps MAGTF Agile Network Gateway Link (MANGL).
